HUM HONGE KAMYAB
14th January 2011 (Friday): This morning saw the dawn of a unique talent hunt competition organized by SWANS. The 3-day event was aptly named 'Hum Honge Kaamyab'. The opportunities that the event has given to the children from different slums and NGOs of Bhopal aptly justifies the name.A panel comprising of the three eminent personalities was formed to judge the performances of these kids. The judges enjoyed the performances and appreciated the children for their mesmerizing display of talent. It was really difficult for them to select a few children from a varied display of such good performances. A total of twenty children of 5-9 years age group participated out of which ten were selected for the finals.
15th January 2011 (Saturday): After a really impressive day of auditions on the first day, the second day auditions started with greater zeal and enthusiasm. About fifty children of age group 9-14 years from different slums and NGOs turned up for the auditions. The performances were both in classical and western form and even include talents like drawing, rangoli and mehendi besides singing and dancing. Ten children were selected were selected for the the finals on 16.
16th January 2011 (Sunday): HUM HONGE KAMYAB's FINALE saw the children from under privileged communities in their best performing moods. They very well proved 'Kaamyabi' (Success) is not a fruit that can be bought by the rich with money but is a fruit of determination and passion by the underprivileged to. The judges who were from various art academies of bhopal were mesmerized by the talents of the children and offered to groom these talents professionally and voluntarily. Hum Honge Kaamyab demonstrated that immense talent exists among under privileged communities also and only needs platform to express it to the entire world. Three winners were chosen in each age group and were awarded prices and trophies. Checks worth Rs. 3000, 2000, 1000, 500 were given to the 1st, 2nd , 3rd, and consolation price winners respectively of both age groups. The prize money were given to the respective NGOs so that it could be used properly for the winning children.
